I can’t wait to try and make this sauce when I go home next weekend to my parents house and add it to the pulled pork sandwich! Those venison sliders were the bomb!!!

  • We joined the G & P at Barrette for a really great time. I loved the place: the crowd was friendly, the bartender, Bill, creative and obliging, and the owner a fabulous mix of spirit and adventure. The menu, prepared by the Gourmand and the Peasant, was truly delish. I am thinking of the moment when I realized I was munching on an arugula blossom (mixed in with the barley salad) and it was simply heaven. The blend of flavors, overall, was unique and well-considered. Who thought to call a hamburger a slider? That’s what I want to know! I’m not a big beer fan, so I was treated to a cool little glass, a sort of double (triple?) shot glass which was the perfect vessel for my wee bit of beer sampling. It sat right next to my sturdier portion of Sauvignon (sp?) Blanc. After we ate, I imagined living right next door, but alas, we faced a long ride back to the Hamptons!
    Congrats, you guys!

Where have we been?!

It is in poor taste, I know, to launch a new blog and then disappear for a full week! And, without fair warning, and for that, dear readers, I apologize – we hope you can forgive us ; -)

We were here and loved every relaxing moment.

Also, I had a moment of ethical pause. Prior to leaving, [...]

Of course negative reviews are helpful! I only have so much coin to drop on eating out; I promise to contribute 10% of whatever money the G&P save me through their words of warning. ;)

Seriously though… If you take a strong stance (negatively or positively), it gives people something to respond to, thereby fostering dialogue… Which is kind of the point, right? Maybe the place you didn’t like is my favorite! That would be interesting. At the very least, give us the name!
