We joined the G & P at Barrette for a really great time. I loved the place: the crowd was friendly, the bartender, Bill, creative and obliging, and the owner a fabulous mix of spirit and adventure. The menu, prepared by the Gourmand and the Peasant, was truly delish. I am thinking of the moment when I realized I was munching on an arugula blossom (mixed in with the barley salad) and it was simply heaven. The blend of flavors, overall, was unique and well-considered. Who thought to call a hamburger a slider? That’s what I want to know! I’m not a big beer fan, so I was treated to a cool little glass, a sort of double (triple?) shot glass which was the perfect vessel for my wee bit of beer sampling. It sat right next to my sturdier portion of Sauvignon (sp?) Blanc. After we ate, I imagined living right next door, but alas, we faced a long ride back to the Hamptons!
    Congrats, you guys!
