Homemade Dog Cookies

As featured on NBC’s Daily Connection! Make these at home for your best friend … assuming your best friend is a dog!

Peanut Butter Dog Bones
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup peanut oil
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup rolled oats

1. Start by preheating your oven to 400ยบ and put the rack in the center.

2. In one large bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, oil and eggs until evenly combined. In a second bowl, stir together the dry ingredients. Add the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir to combine.

3. Gather into a ball, then roll out on a well-floured surface to about 1/2″ thick. Use a cookie cutter, or cut into squares and place on a rack set on a cookie sheet.

4. Place in the oven for 20 minutes, then turn off the heat and without opening the door, allow the oven to cool completely with the cookies inside.

5. Then, feed to your pup as a special treat!
